Royal Worcester
Royal Worcester has been making fine porcelain in the city of Worcester since 1751 — a founding date so significant that the number "51" appears at the centre of every backstamp the pottery has ever produced. It is one of the oldest continuously operating porcelain manufacturers in the world, and one of the few that has maintained both its heritage and its relevance across nearly three centuries of production.
Royal Worcester built its reputation on exceptional craftsmanship: hand-painted fruit and floral subjects, meticulous gilding, and a standard of finish that placed it firmly in the prestige tier of British ceramics. Its most beloved pattern, Evesham Gold — named for the famous fruit orchards of the Vale of Evesham in Worcestershire — became one of the most collected British tableware patterns of the 20th century, and remains so today.
