Latch Hooking a Vintage Hanging Chair
Remember my recent time lapse videos on Instagram? I thought I should explain what I am up to: latching hooking a vintage hanging chair using left overs of my beautiful extreme knitting yarn, K1S1. Latching hooking is easy and fun and is a perfect way to calm your nervous system down when you need some time-out.
I am using multiple colours for this project and trusting my intuition in terms of placement. The only thinking involved is decideingwhen I should pull myself off the ground to make another cup of tea. I turn to repetitive menial tasks, always involving my hands, when I need a break from business. It's important that I give myself time to be creative without any pressure on the outcome. To create for creation's sake. To simply enjoy the process and not worry about the judgment of others as to whether or not it is any good.
When I am in a state of flow like this, new inspiration tends to find me. Whether it be a solution to a creative problem or a new idea, the simple act of getting lost in the doing restores my sense of balance.

I truly appreciate and relate to your speaking of clearing your head while doing ‘easy-on-the-mind creating’. Creating is so emotional for me that during certain periods, there is absolutely no creative energy. I have sometimes been able to do some monotonous type of creating such as you are doing here (when the creative planning has been done and the physical work now needs to be done). But far too often, nothing happens. Thank you for the reminder to keep my hands busy to let me mind heal.
